What makes you happy?

Do you ever think about what causes happiness in your life?

I find it to be essential to my daily interactions. What is life without happiness? What is the meaning of life if you do not enjoy it?

I think oftentimes we forget to BE HAPPY. I think that happiness is gained through recognizing that there is something bigger out there. It makes me sad when people are not happy, and seem to just drown themselves in bad habits to fill that void.

I also have found that to be true in my school work as of late. If I am not happy with where I am going degree wise, or not happy with the classes I am in, I lose motivation to try hard and to succeed. This is not good, and I've been wondering what it is that can make me happy about school. It's been an interesting time trying to diagnose such things and figure things out. Especially at a time when I don't have time and every single class has so many things due at the same time as these thoughts as well.

I came to the conclusion that understanding why I am here on earth is what makes me happy. When I realize that I am blessed to be alive, I am happy. When I realize that faith is what can get me through today and tomorrow, that brings me joy. When I share God's love with those around me and take time to focus on others and not just be selfish with my time, that makes me happy. Happiness was attained when my world became larger and not about me, but all those I surround myself with daily. True happiness for me is the realization that there is a bigger picture, a bigger world, and a big day waiting for me to share my true joy with.
