Today is the birthday of my Aunt and Father. Yes, they are twins!
Happy Birthday!!
One thing that hasn't changed with all the new technology, is the mail. It is okay to pick out a card before the actual birthday if you send one online. That, I think, is less personal though. So, every year my procrastinating self will write down in my planner to buy them cards, think about it, but always forget. So, I have two birthday cards sitting in my room, that will be going out today... late. It's the one inconvenience of being in different cities. But, I guess it's the thought that counts right? And, eventually they will get cards... just may be after they're already a year older and a few days :)
Happy Birthday Dad and Aunt!
Hopefully one day I can have twins too! I hear that it skips a generation! lol.

As if I do not have enough things to take up my time, I have found a new addiction: pinterest. It's a virtual bulletin board site You can basically pin anything on the web to your board. You can have multiple boards for multiple things. So, in case any of you are planning a wedding, this site is a great place to go! There are many fascinating ideas for centerpieces, layout of seating, lighting, candles, and so forth. I love the site because I like to plan, and I like new ideas! There are so many things that I now want to do when I actually have a house and can decorate it. I also found great ideas for when I have kids. Some of the ideas being crafts, how to decorate their room, and pictures to take with them.
Another feature I like of the site is that you can click the "pin it" button while browsing the internet and almost always can pin the image to your board even when you're not necessarily "on" pinterest. It seriously is way too addicting. I also think it's a great example of new technology and how exchange of ideas and information keeps on changing as technology progresses. Now I do not have to attend all these weddings to see what cool things they did. I also don't have to hunt them down and ask how they did things, I can just look online and it usually will say how. Also for household ideas, I don't have to have creative friends or harass them on how they made such cute shelves. Now, I can just go on pinterest and view that section to find out! It's a great site, way too addicting, and hopefully I can implement these new ideas someday!

What makes you happy?
Do you ever think about what causes happiness in your life?
I find it to be essential to my daily interactions. What is life without happiness? What is the meaning of life if you do not enjoy it?
I think oftentimes we forget to BE HAPPY. I think that happiness is gained through recognizing that there is something bigger out there. It makes me sad when people are not happy, and seem to just drown themselves in bad habits to fill that void.
I also have found that to be true in my school work as of late. If I am not happy with where I am going degree wise, or not happy with the classes I am in, I lose motivation to try hard and to succeed. This is not good, and I've been wondering what it is that can make me happy about school. It's been an interesting time trying to diagnose such things and figure things out. Especially at a time when I don't have time and every single class has so many things due at the same time as these thoughts as well.
I came to the conclusion that understanding why I am here on earth is what makes me happy. When I realize that I am blessed to be alive, I am happy. When I realize that faith is what can get me through today and tomorrow, that brings me joy. When I share God's love with those around me and take time to focus on others and not just be selfish with my time, that makes me happy. Happiness was attained when my world became larger and not about me, but all those I surround myself with daily. True happiness for me is the realization that there is a bigger picture, a bigger world, and a big day waiting for me to share my true joy with.

My Birthday
I think birthdays are always fun and exciting. I had so many things that the people in my life did for me! I got taken out to Star Pass Marriott for dessert with some of my friends, super nice and fun. My friend came in from Phoenix and that was super sweet just getting to see her and spend time with her. The next day I had a "surprise" that was not really a surprise with another girl who has her birthday the same day as me. It was fun and my friends made me a Belle cake, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, it was AMAZING! The next day (my real birthday 10/10) I went up to La Encantada and basically hung out at AJs all day while others had class. It was such a relaxing time to get work done, walk around, enjoy AJ's amazing iced tea, and just relax. Later that day my boyfriend took me to Gates Pass to watch the sunset and then we ate at Oreganos and got a free pizookie since it was my birthday! We ended the night playing cribbage in my dorm hallway... yes I'm an RA and live on campus. It was such a wonderful birthday weekend and a great reminder of all the awesome people in my life. My residents also decorated the wall next to my door with sticky notes that spelled out a happy birthday message. It was truly like sticky note art!! My birthday weekend was great to say the least! I loved every minute of it, and it was sad having to return to real life.
